Enclosure No. 1.

19

Honourable Colonial Secretary,

With reference to the Ministry of Health letter

of 10th September, 1930, I venture to refer you to my predecessor's report of 17th April, 1926, which accompanied Sir Cecil Clementi's despatch No.196 of 23rd April, 1926.

The Colonial Veterinary Surgeon is satisfied that

the control which he exercises over these factories - the output of which alone receives his official certificate - is effective to prevent the introduction into them of lard imported from China.

He declares the allegation to be without

foundation in fact.

(Sd.) G. R. Sayer,

Head of the Sanitary Department.

3rd November, 1930.
